Keep Ontario Place in Public Hands
For over 50 years, Ontario Place has been a public waterfront space for all Torontonians, used for walking, swimming, fishing and more. The West Island is currently home to beavers, minks and foxes and over 170 species of birds, 15 of which are on the provincial species at-risk list. Despite this, Premier Doug Ford has secretly signed a 95-year lease with Therme to turn the crown jewel of the waterfront into a private spa.
Josh Matlow has a plan to stop Doug Ford from privatizing Ontario Place, by transferring the land owned by the City of Toronto to the Federal Government, where it will stay safe in public hands for years to come.
